About The Author
Louise Nayer is a native New Yorker but has lived in San Francisco for over 40 years. She attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and SUNY Buffalo for grad school where she studied with poets Robert Creeley and John Logan. She received six California Arts Council grants and taught poetry in senior centers and nursing homes and was honored to hear so many amazing stories from older people. She taught many levels of English and Creative Writing at City College of San Francisco for over 27 years and now she teaches small writing workshops.
She is a member of the San Francisco Writer’s Grotto where she writes and also teaches. She also teaches at OLLI at UC Berkeley, and sometimes works with students developing their memoirs. She is working on her fifth book now.
She has two grown daughters and a step-daughter and lives with her husband and dog, Ella, in Glen Park.
